Kristine Altscheffel
Young 5
Miss Kristine

Learning is the main purpose of education, and I believe that all children can and want to learn. It is my responsibility as a teacher to increase knowledge and understanding to ensure that all students are successful learners. My main objectives and goals as a teacher are to teach fundamental concepts, foster critical thinking, and establish a supportive and encouraging rapport with all of my students.

When teaching new concepts, I believe that it is important to use manipulatives and hands-on activities as well as relate the concepts to the students' lives. This will make learning fun and interesting for the students. I will use collaborative and cooperating learning techniques so that the students can work together and learn from each other. I feel it is also important to create a warm learning environment that is stimulating, encouraging and adaptive to emotional and individual needs. Finally, I value consistent classroom management to assure order and respect within my classroom.

I will use ongoing authentic assessments to drive instruction and promote learning and development. My assessments will be age appropriate, fair for all children, reliable and will benefit the children and improve learning.

I believe that every child is a shining star. It is my duty as a teacher to inspire and motivate these children to learn. I am glad that I have chosen this profession and I am determined to work my hardest to accomplish my goals. Knowing that I have accomplished my goal of teaching a child wisdom is the most rewarding gift ever!
