students to take leadership roles in our school. By participating in the
Student Council, students express their needs and promote stewardship. Student
Council Functions and Responsibilities
Purpose
The
Student Council of St. Elizabeth Area Catholic School is a school organization
of K-8 grade students elected by their fellow students. The Student Council
works with the principal to organize fundraising events and stewardship
projects, as well as fun opportunities for the students of St. Elizabeth Area
Catholic School. The Student
Council is also responsible for developing and enhancing relationships in the
community. Who is eligible to be a member of the Student Council?
Any
student enrolled at St. Elizabeth Area Catholic School is eligible for election. What does a member of the Student Council actually do?
Each
member must attend regularly scheduled meetings at which he/she represents
his/her grade. A member acts on the needs and interests of the students and the
community. Typical Student Council projects, proposals, and activities of past
years have included: penny drives, food baskets, jean days, PEP assemblies, care
packages for soldiers, etc. The Student Council is also responsible for sending birthday cards to the children from our parish community. When there is a baptism in our parish or in an area parish, the Student Council may be asked to make cards for the children.
